Today is my colleague, Elysa's Birthday. Thought I will buy a cake and give her a small surprise, and help myself to the yummy cake later. :) Below are some pictures of the event.
Dunno why, but I love celebrating birthdays, and is good in organizing events in my company - be they birthday surprise, going out for farewell lunch/dinner, best wish in your new career parties etc. I guess if I am not in the IT line, I will be the events management line, cheerfully overseeing everything in event management.
As an ex-colleague once remarked - "Hey Eugene, somehow things in this company does not seems the same without your chirpy 'Good morning' and 'parties' in the office. Life gets kind of boring here without you. ".
Before I keep blogging about myself, let's not forget the birthday gal.- Happy birthday, Elysa, and wish you many happy returns of the day!

Hui hui's Birthday :)
Well, every year, I usually call my childhood friend, Huihui, out near her birthday and this year is no exception. We had a great dinner at Ang Mo Kio Hub, New York, New York (note: must bring my pretty wife Sasa to try the food there next time), and while going a short walk after dinner, we chanced across a photo sticker machine. Below are some shots from the photo sticker machine.

RECC Dinner and Dance
Raffles College hosted a Dinner and Dance event at Gotham Penthouse in Clark Quay on 17 June 2008 for the graduating students. As I have worked with them before for a web marketing project, I managed to get an invitation to this awesome event. Below are some photos from the Event.
The organizers did a wonderful job, and the event is well organized, with plenty of fun and games. Oh, did I forget to mention the excellent food?

Yenny's Bon Voyage
Yenny, a colleague of mine, will be posted to Indonesia for4.5 months with effect from tomorrow. Being the fun-loving guy I am, I organized a short 'bon voyage' lunch (well, Yenny hates the word 'farewell').
Left, Andrew: Hema, Yenny, Venus, Irwan.
Right, Donald, Me, Ouyang, Roberto, Samuel.

Well, we are gonna miss you, Yenny! All the best for your trip to Indonesia. With the resignation of Randy and Fendi, and the posting of Yenny to Indonesia, now no more lunch buddies beside Ouyang. :( Feel like crying already.

French Waterworks @ Boat Quay
On 23rd May, after work, I decided to go to the Singapore Arts Festival to watch the waterworks at Boat Quay. I tried pinging all my usual pals, and finally succeeded in asking my pal, Hema, to join us. I don't seem to have any luck in asking others, despite asking lots of people.
To my pleasant surprise, at about 6pm, when we were leaving, Hema managed to pull in several others to join us. We decided to go by bus since it is faster and only a few bus stop away from our office. When we reached there, we were put off by the tons of hawkers trying to tout and bring us into their restaurants with insanely expensive prices. Thankfully there is a McDonald nearby. To our dismay, the queue there is super long...
We immediately switched to plan B and go to Hungry Jack (or Burger King) across the road instead. The pics above were taken while we were having dinner there.
While the show was ok - (it did not help that there was an insane crowd there and the only thing most of us can see is some one else's head), the fireworks is truely spectacular! To our surprise, we found a few other colleagues there, including Ellen, and Yenny.
After the show ended, we decided to go for drinks at the pubs nearby. Cassandra, another colleague, joined us for drinks. We first visited a pub named ICE FACTORY. It is freezing in there, but the atmosphere there is pretty cool, with nice music and a comfortable air-con.
But unfortunately, the rest of them does not quite agreed with me and decided to find another watering hole. The second pub I went to have mixed drinks, to which everyone except me likes. For me, I think I stick to beer - it is lots safer. The nuts there is pretty cool, and they have free prawn crackers as well.
Leon then see Wing home, while the rest of us hop into Cassandra's bf car for a free lift home. Thanks Cassandra - owe you one.
Micheal's and Fendi's Farewell
Our Colleagues come out in full force to greet Fendi and Micheal Farewell
From the Raffles School of Psychology and Raffles School of Infocomm
Staff from other departments including me
Farewell lunch for Micheal
Some of the yummy food and drinks
On 30th of May, I bid farewell to two of my colleagues, Micheal and Fendi. They were leaving the company. As part of their farewell, we got cards signed by all their friends to wish them well in their future endevours. That being said, we headed off for a yummy lunch before bidding Micheal "see you again"
In the late afternoon, we got another card for Fendi and some gifts. Did I mentioned that this is also Andrew's Birthday celebration?
Randy's Sudden Resignation
In the middle of May, I got a big shock, when Randy, my colleague who I have been working with for all programming issues, suddenly resigned without any warning whatever, and declared it is his last day of work. Shocked as we are, the jolly IT department quickly take the chance to throw him a farewell photo taking session to remember us by.
Jialei's End of Internship
End of April is Jailei's last day as an intern, and he will be seeking out his fortune in the exciting world of IT. We wish him all the best in his future endevours.
